Sam Laser, the namesake of the Laser Law Firm, attended Little Rock Junior College 1937 - 1939, and the University of Arkansas School of Law from 1939-1941. He was on active duty with the U.S. Navy from October 1941 through December 1945, and is a survivor of the sinking of aircraft carrier, USS Yorktown, at the Battle of Midway, June 1942. He was discharged as Lt., USNR, and received multiple awards including three battle stars.
Sam returned to the University of Arkansas Law School in1946 and graduated in 1947 with an LLB degree. At the University, he was on the Academic Honor Roll, a member of Editorial Board of Arkansas Law Review, a member of Blue Key National Honor Society, a member of Delta Beta Phi legal fraternity, and a member of Kappa Sigma social fraternity.
Sam Laser was admitted to practice in Arkansas and Federal Courts in 1947. He is a member of the Pulaski County, Arkansas, and American Bar Associations. He has served on various committees of the Arkansas and American Bar Associations, including serving as Chairman of a special joint committee of the Arkansas Bar Association and Arkansas Medical Society on inter-professional relationships. Mr. Laser drafted the standards of practice governing the relations between lawyers and physicians adopted by the Bar Association and Medical Society. He was a lecturer at medico-legal and trial tactics seminars. He is also a former teacher at the University of Arkansas Law School at Little Rock, and an honorary member of the William Overton Inn of Court.
Sam is included in The Best Lawyers in America - Personal Injury Litigation (defendants), and perennially included in Arkansas Times newspaper polls of Best Lawyers in Arkansas (civil defense). He is a member of the Federation of Insurance Counsel and Defense Research Institute. He is the single recipient of the 2003 and 2004 Outstanding Lawyer Award given by the Arkansas Bar Foundation.Sam has represented insurance companies for forty-eight years.
